[cap]A[/cap]BOUT THE DOD: The Disciples of Dirt is a loosely formed mountain biking collective in Eugene, Oregon. Spanning all walks of life, its members break the mountain biker stereotype and open the sport to people of all occupations and ages. Since its unofficial founding in the 1970s, the DOD has become the group responsible for some of the most vocal forest and trail advocacy in Lane County. The Disciples of Dirt work in conjunction with the Oregon Department of Forestry, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Bureau of Land Management, among others. When not designing, building, and maintaining trails, DOD members spend every free moment soaring through the forested hills. The Disciples of Dirt is a recognized member of the International Mountain Biking Association. To get involved, or for more information, visit http://www.disciplesofdirt.org/
